John Nemeth discovered the blues as a teenager in the muddy potato fields of Idaho after being introduced to Junior Wells and Buddy Guy’s Hoodoo Man Blues. He began performing locally with Fat John & the 3 Slims and other bands before releasing his own recordings and eventually joining Junior Watson’s band. After moving to San Francisco in 2004, Németh spent two years performing with Anson Funderburgh and the Rockets, where he deepened his understanding of blues, soul, and funk. His talent soon earned him a contract with Blind Pig Records, and his 2007 album "Magic Touch" brought him national attention as an important new voice in blues. He followed it with several successful albums, numerous Blues Music Award nominations, and collaborations with artists such as Elvin Bishop.

In 2013, Németh moved to Memphis, where he embraced the city’s rich soul and blues traditions. Working with producer Scott Bomar and the Bo-Keys, he released "Memphis Grease" in 2014, earning Blues Music Awards for Best Soul Blues Male Artist and Best Soul Blues Album. His later work, including "Feelin’ Freaky," "The Love Light Orchestra," and "Stronger Than Strong," continued to blend traditional blues and soul with elements of R&B, hip hop, and rock. Throughout his career, Németh has become known for combining classic blues traditions with modern influences, creating music that feels both rooted in the past and fresh and contemporary.
