The Barrett Anderson Band

The Barrett Anderson Band
3-21-2026

The Barrett Anderson Band is an award-winning, Boston-based, Billboard-charting band that “packs enough raw energy on stage to power the whole of New England,” - JD Nash, American Blues Scene
This Roots & Blues quartet (double electric guitar, upright bass, and drums) offers “plenty to appreciate… from slide-driven blues to full-on rock and roll, taking in some jam band and North Mississippi influences along the way,” - John Mitchell, Crossroads Blues Society
Get ready for a joy-filled, dynamic night of “Hypnoboogie” blues.

Blues guitarist/singer Barrett Anderson is a 25 year veteran of the New England Blues scene and, in recent years, has become a fixture of national and international Blues communities. Barrett has been a member of Ronnie Earl & The Broadcasters and The Monster Mike Welch Band and is currently the guitarist for Anthony Geraci & The Boston Blues Allstars. As a teenager he learned slide guitar from Steady Rollin’ Bob Margolin, studied with Son House’ disciple, Paul Rishell and kept Anna Lee company while hanging with Levon Helm on Beale Street. Ronnie Earl calls Barrett his musical son.  Chris Spector, of Midwest Record, says “Anderson has the chops and spark to make a real statement his own way.  Hot stuff.”
Upright Bassist/singer, Paul Loranger, has established as one of the most in-demand and finest roots bassists in the world.  During a lifetime of low tones, Paul has provided sub-100 Hz frequencies for Eric Sardinas, Jonny Mastro, Candye Kane, Anthony Geraci, and too many others to list.  His natural charisma, ebullience, and intense musicality make him a highlight of every stage he graces.
Guitarist/singer Charlie Mallet has been a fixture on the Central MA music scene since the 70s, and has been performing with The Barrett Anderson Band since 2019.  Just like hot sauce, Charlie’s guitar playing makes everything better.
Drummer Joey Pafumi plays with authority, showmanship, and flair, bringing an instantly recognizable, powerful drive to The Barrett Anderson Band.  During a 40+ year career, Joey has played with Walter Trout, Paul Nelson, Bernard Allison, Coco Montoya, Buddy Guy, Hubert Sumlin, and more in a wide variety of music genres.  The consummate “pro’s pro,” Joey’s drumming is not to be missed.

“A performance that’s innovative, fun, full of grit.” - Jay Chelstowski, Disciples of Sound

Opener: Dennis Brennan - Boston's legendary songwriter/performer well-known with his bands The White Owls and The Dennis Brennan Band.
