Neal & the Vipers
3-3-2023
Neal And The Vipers are one of the area’s most respected and longest-running blues outfits. Signed by Atlantic Record founder Ahmet Ertegun in 1989, they have shared the stage with B.B. King, Willie Dixon, John Lee Hooker, Albert Collins, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Jimmie Vaughan, Roy Buchanan, Bonnie Raitt, Robert Plant and Johnny Copeland.
Frontman/guitarist and founder, Neal Vitullo has honed his craft through 30 years of countless club dates and concerts, and can literally rip up the stage with his axe. The band is as tight as your high school jeans, and once you get bitten by a Viper you'll have the fever too.
Their newest album, "One Drunken Kiss," was released in June of 2018 and the critics and fans love it.
"I highly recommend their excellent new album “One Drunken Kiss" for fans of straight ahead, unvarnished roots rock and roll.” — Tom Guerra, Vintage Guitar Magazine
“This is THAT record you’ve been waiting for. While many blues performers have come and gone over the past 40 plus years, it’s refreshing to see that the star of Neal and The Vipers shines brighter than ever as evidenced by their latest release, One Drunken Kiss." ...this promises to be one of the best blues-rock releases of 2018.” - Fritz Homans, "The Blues Station" on WERU-FM
"Watching Vitullo play guitar is like chasing him up a flight of stairs. He will exhaust your capacity of musical comprehension and then continue climbing, leaving you winded and staring in disbelief." - Springfield - Union News
"Live on Record, Vitullo hammers his guitars with punkish energy, combining the flavor of post-war blues masters with rockabilly twang and the heady power of 60's icons like Jimi Hendrix and Jeff Beck into a guitar orgy." - Worcester Phoenix
