The Game: Peter King

10-21-2026
This is going to be a very special event! Join us as we celebrate Peter King’s new book on NFL football, The Game. He’ll be in conversation with Dan Shaughnessy of The Boston Globe. Your ticket includes a signed copy of King’s book! This event is held in partnership with our friends at The Silver Unicorn Bookstore.
Legendary sportswriter Peter King – who was on three occasions named the National Sportswriter of the Year – was for decades synonymous with NFL football. For 40 years, from HBO’s “Inside the NFL” to NBC’s “Football Night in America” TV shows, to his “Football Morning in America” column with NBC, and especially his “Monday Morning Quarterback” column with Sports Illustrated, you could not call yourself a true NFL fan unless you were reading Peter King.
While he retired from writing his column and appearing on TV in 2024, he has remained active, including being a member of the Board of Selectors for the Pro Football Hall of Fame. And now he’s written a new book about the game of football (his fifth book, technically), aptly titled The Game. And he has poured those 40 years into this book. Forty years of interviews, anecdotes, and stories. Forty years of limos, planes, and the Madden Cruiser. Forty years of sidelines, locker rooms, and executive suites. From Pete Rozelle to John Madden to Deion Sanders to Reggie White to Peyton Manning, and so, so, so many more, no one is better equipped to pull back the curtain on the NFL than Peter King.
The book has earned enthusiastic praise from a who’s who of sportswriting – Mina Kimes, Dan Patrick, Richard Sherman, Mike Tirico, Seth Wickersham, and Chris “Mad Dog” Russo – as well as NFL legends such as Bill Parcells and Troy Aikman, plus a starred review in Publishers Weekly. This will be one of the best sports books of 2026!
Doors open at 5:30 pm, and you can get dinner and drinks right in the Sawtelle Room before the show starts. Grab a friend and get your tickets today!
