The Bull Run & Cannon Theatre presents “Murder on the Menu”

Comedy mixes with a good mystery in this murder mystery production presented by the Cannon Theatre

Artemus Ward, head of the lucrative family publishing business called Ward Books, sits at his table in the Manor Restaurant waiting for his guest to arrive until....he falls face first into his mashed potatoes with a knife in his back! Luckily, Dr. Bullfinger, an over-eager, newly elected county coroner, and Major, an ambitious and quick-thinking journalist, were both dining at the restaurant and they are eager to lead an investigation into his death.

It’s hard to say who killed Artemus considering everyone has a motive. Could it be his son, Reginald, heir to the family business, or his Emily Dickinson quoting daughter, Alexis, co-heir and 4-time widow whose husbands all died at the dinner table? Maybe it was his destitute nephew, Bernie, stuck in the mailroom of Ward Books, or Eileen Morrow, his “back-stabbing” attorney. Even the owner of the Manor Restaurant, Jeanie Dell, as well as Dr. Bullfinger and Major are implicated.

See if you can follow the clues and unravel the mystery of who killed Artemus Ward before the police arrive!

The Cannon Theatre was founded by Shawn Cannon and Bret Bahe, who shared a dream of creating a community theater as a place for learning and performing great plays, a place where people could enjoy the company of others, laugh, and just lose themselves in the joy of artistic expression.  After 10 wonderful years located in the mill buildings in Littleton, the theater had to shut down during the pandemic but used that time to begin a search for a new space, one that was slightly larger to seat more patrons yet not lose that intimate feel that is part of its DNA, one with safe and accessible parking, and one close to its original location.  The result is our beautiful new Cannon Theatre located in Devens, MA.
The Cannon Theatre is proud and excited to be returning to the Bull Run Restaurant!
