Northeast Organic Farming Association (NOFA) Annual Fundraiser

Keynote: David Barber, Co-Founder, Stone Barns Center for Food and Agriculture, and President and Co-Owner, Blue Hill Restaurant
Special Guest: Massachusetts State Senator Jamie Eldridge
David Barber spent his childhood summers working the land on his family's Blue Hill Farm in the Berkshires. His love of the farm, and dedication to protecting it through sustainable business activities, inspired David to expand the Blue Hill identity beyond the farm's borders. Blue Hill restaurant in NY is now an established leader in the movement to promote locally produced food. David has developed the financial strategies that define how the restaurant, food purveyors and public interrelate. In 2001, David guided the renovation of a former Rockefeller farm barn complex in Westchester County and his founding role in the formation of the Stone Barns Center for Food and Agriculture included design and management of the financial operating structure and all related capital expenses. This unique not-for-profit operation works in association with the Barbers' second Blue Hill restaurant located on the grounds of Stone Barns Center.
The Northeast Organic Farming Association is a non-profit organization of nearly 5,000 farmers, gardeners and consumers working to promote healthy food, organic farming practices and a cleaner environment.
State Senator Jamie Eldridge has served Middlesex and Worcester counties since January 2009. He served as State Rep after being elected the only Clean Elections candidate to public office in Massachusetts hisotry in November, 2002.
Tickets $100 per person for NOFA members, $125 for non-members.
Includes a multi-course gourmet dinner consisting of local and organic ingredients from Mass farmers and producers, silent and live auction.
