Robben Ford

Robben Ford
5-3-2019

Robben Ford is one of the premier electric guitarists today, particularly known for his blues playing, as well as his ability to be comfortable in a variety of musical contexts. A five-time Grammy nominee, he has played with artists as diverse as Joni Mitchell, Jimmy Witherspoon, Miles Davis, George Harrison, Phil Lesh, Bonnie Raitt, Michael McDonald, Bob Dylan, John Mayall, Greg Allman, John Scofield, Susan Tedeschi, Keb Mo, Larry Carlton, Mavis Staples, Brad Paisley, and many others.

Watching Robben take the stage is equal parts gratifying, awe-inspiring, and challenging. From his first note, you realize that you’re in the presence of a bonafide guitar master. With five Grammy nominations and a three-decade-long solo career, his accomplishments reflect the versatility and musicality of someone who has pursued their true calling.

Robben’s 2015 release, “Into The Sun,” debuted at #2 on the Billboard Blues Chart. It has such guest artists as Warren Haynes, Keb’ Mo, Robert Randolph, ZZ Ward, Sonny Landreth and Tyler Bryant. And Ford’s latest release, “Purple House” (2018), brings together eloquent storytelling, inspired guitar work, and guest appearances by Shemekia Copeland and two members of the group Bishop Gunn, Travis McCready and Drew Smithers.

Over the years Robben Ford has shown himself to be one of the mose versatile, eloquent and interesting guitar masters out there. His live shows are the stuff of legend.
