Cowboy Mouth

Best party band ever. "...on a bad night they'll tear the roof off the joint and on a good night, they'll save your soul." - Cake Magazine
Cowboy Mouth is New Orleans rock n' roll and crowd participation is a must. Led by Fred LeBlanc’s larger-than-life presence, the band’s performances are high-energy, extraordinarily intense and always full of surprises, like guest appearances from Steve Van Zandt, Rob Thomas, John Popper, Art Neville, Johnnie Johnson (Chuck Berry’s piano player), Kyle Turley, or Tom Arnold (Best Damn Sports Show), to name a few.
For more than 15 years, Cowboy Mouth has preached and shouted at the top of their lungs the joys of being alive and the joys of being in and from New Orleans. Their hits include the wildly popular, "Jenny Says", as well as "Love Of My Life", "Everybody Loves Jill" (where the audience throws red spoons on stage), "Easy", "Disconnected" and "How Do You Tell Someone." As frontman Fred has says, "Cowboy Mouth is a rock 'n roll orgasm that dares to celebrate the fact that we are all alive ...an emotional, physical, spiritual and sexual release from the chains of life." Sounds like the perfect reason to go check out the party-hearty, cowpunk band that blends rock, punk, country, blues, Zydeco and whatever else fits into their musical casserole for one darn good time.
Fred is the band’s maniacal drummer/lead singer (think Tasmanian Devil playing drums like Keith Moon with a voice like Bo Diddley). He is also an accomplished producer and mixed the band’s first two studio recordings AND earned a gold record for producing Deadeye Dick hit song from the movie Dumb And Dumber, “New Age Girl.”
John Thomas Griffith is the other singer/guitarist/maniac who came to CM after 4 years with the southern punk band Dash Rip Rock. Before that, "Griff" was lead singer of ’80s band, The Red Rockers, who had a top-selling album on Columbia Records. Their hit song “China” was one of the first hits on MTV.
The band’s rhythm guitarist Jonathan “JP” Pretus cut his musical teeth in clubs and bars in and around New Orleans and Baton Rouge for the better part of the last 10 years.
Bassist Casandra Faulconer has been one of the most sought after bass players in New Orleans. Offbeat magazine nominated her as one of New Orleans best bass players and she has performed on stage with Dr. John, Debbie Davies, Papa Mali, Cyril Neville among others.
CM has just released a new CD, called “Fearless” and it includes some of their most popular live songs: “Anything”, “Disconnected”, “Belly”, “Tell the Girl Ur Sorry” of which some earlier, unfinished versions were available on the band’s recent live DVD, “The name of the band is Cowboy Mouth”.
Playing 200 shows yearly, releasing a dozen records and featured on TV and radio shows everywhere, CM has been seen and heard by millions worldwide. They've made several film and television appearances, including the Steven Soderburgh film “The Underneath,” MTV and VH1, Live with Regis and Kelly, Ellen DeGeneres Show, and The Late Show with Craig Kilborn.
