The Response: Modern retro rock forged in friendship and community.
Featuring Jon Golden (drums), Jic Davis (batar/bass/keyboards), George Middleton (guitar), Mac Ritchey (electric oud/bass/vocals), Emilie Faucher (lead vocals), Marshall Goff (guitar), Neil Kruszkowski (saxophone) and Gus Sebring (French horn).
The band’s unusual instrumentation, timbres, and diverse musicality offer up a sonic journey for the ears that weave and wander through the styles of progressive atmospheric rock, rock/blues, improv, and world influences. With a nod to the classic era of the 70’s and a sound that is both new and yet familiar at the same time, they spin crafted lyrical tales that explore such diverse topics as environmental concerns, international conflict, interpersonal human relationships — and one story of an aging dog sitting on a porch.
The ensemble’s mission is pretty clear — make music together, share it, have fun, and help to foster community through the arts. When they play together, the audience can immediately feel their kinship emanating from the stage, a truly infectious joy that gets you on your feet dancing.
