Grace Morrison & the RSO
10-18-2014 (Ballroom)
Grace Morrison began studying piano at five. At twelve she discovered the group Hanson and said “I can do that." She taught herself how to play the guitar, started writing songs, and two years later found herself opening for some of the best folk acts in New England.
Within the next few years, she wrote over two hundred songs and was performing full time. After graduating from high school she went on tour with Chris Slade of AC/DC and The Firm, Greg Douglass of The Steve Miller Band, Joey Molland of Badfinger, Carmine Appice of Vanilla Fudge and Jimmy Baine of Dio. Not long after, she sang backup for Eddie Money.
Recently, Grace won the 'Band of the Year' nod from Limelight Magazine, and The Big Break Competition with WPRI-TV 12, where a video clip of her video 'The Touble' was featured during the 2014 season finale of American Idol!
Grace’s vocal styling captivates audiences with her articulate and engaging performances. Grammy nominated recording engineer John Mailloux of Bongo Beach Productions says “ Grace's voice is a reflection of herself--pure and true. She is an incredible talent mixing seemingly effortless musicality and original storytelling in the Folk and Americana genres.”
Open: Dan & the Wildfire - Noted for their mix of folk, rock and soulful, rootsy sounds, & an ability to write songs that are honest and singable, they were nominated for the New England Music Award's 'Indie Act of the Year' in 2013.
