Blues Blast 2014 will be headlined by the Boston Blues Society 2013 Challenge winners, The Throwdown Band, and will include such popular musicians as Dave Howard and Neal Vitullo of The Vipers, Diane Blue and Lydia Warren.
We anticipate several high energy sections, starting with The Throwdown Band reprising their set which carried them to the 2014 International Blues Challenge semi-finals, and then providing rhythm and much more for the rest of the evening. This will be followed by a set from the world-travelling Lydia Warren, who cut her teeth opening for blues and classic rock luminaries B.B. King, Buddy Guy and Little Feat throughout New England, earning a Boston Music Award nomination and a feature on NBC’s Today Show. And then another set from the famous Diane Blue, who won the 2010 Massachusetts Blues Challenge was voted "Outstanding Female Singer" in The Blues Audience 2011 Readers’ Poll. After a short break, Neal and Dave will bring their unique style to the stage, and the final set will be for everyone to “mix and match” for a jam of outsized proportions.
