Bob Wolfman Band w special guest Murali Coryell

Bob Wolfman Band w special guest Murali Coryell

1-17-2015 (Sawtelle Room)

Two world class musicians reunite for one very special night.

Born and raised in New York City in the early seventies surely helped to put the ‘soul’ in Bob Wolfman's sound, having played with legends like Joe Beck, Chick Corea, Grover Washington Jr., and his lifelong mentor, teacher and friend Larry Coryell. He has also performed with John Payne (sax player with Van Morrison), blues singer Toni Lynn Washington, blues and jazz Harmonica icon Mike “Turk” Richards, bluesman James Montgomery and many more. Known in the 1980’s as a “hired gun” for recording sessions with numerous bands and singers, Wolfman thrills and delights audiences with his rich blend of blues, rock and jazz with a touch of r&b and gospel.   -   “Simply one of the best guitarists in the U.S. today!” - Boston Globe
Keyboardist Bruce Mattson (of the Gregg Allman Band) on the B-3 organ and piano, Dorian Randolph on drums and Bill Foster on bass round out this finely tuned band.

Special Guest: Murali Coryell, who was inducted into the New York State Blues Hall of Fame in 2013, is a triple threat contemporary blues artist who can sing, write and play guitar with the best in the business. As the son of guitar legend Larry Coryell, Murali grew up around the likes of Jimi Hendrix, Miles Davis, & Carlos Santana. He has been a main stay touring act at Buddy Guys’ Legends in Chicago ever since his first CD release in 1995. His 2009 CD release "Sugar Lips" reached #5 in 2010 on the Living Blues Radio Chart and was recorded in Nashville with Tom Hambridge.
